texures, freezing, and pasting issues

I have 3 issues with this viewer. I don't know if I need to make separate "issues" out of them, but here they are...
  1. Textures take half an hour at best, never at worst, to load. This includes HUD textures. Here is an example of how it looked. Someone told me to disable "HTML textures" and I did, but that made no difference. I uninstalled and reinstalled the viewer (not a clean reinstall, I admit), and textures are eventually loading, but it takes a very long time.
  2. I cannot paste text into the viewer. When I do ctrl+v or right-click and paste, nothing happens.
  3. It's better at the moment but it has been freezing up every few seconds, especially when I walk around.
The first 2 are the most important. As an event coverage blogger, I can't wait an hour for textures to rezz at my script-light sim where I'm the only person, let alone in an avatar-filled script-heavy event sim. And I have to send group notices which require copying and pasting from our blog posts (I'm not going to retype it all). These 2 are deal-breakers for me until there is a resolution. I've spoken with other people in the SL Blogger Support group in-world who use this viewer and have not had these problems (well, one had texture problems but it was a different kind and was resolved by reinstalling). So I don't know if it's just me. I do know that I don't have any of these problems in the latest Firestorm. I was hoping to use this viewer because I hear it's faster and easier on the computer.

Speaking of the computer, I'm running Windows 8.1, 64 bit, on a year-old ASUS, with a GeForce 745m graphics card and an Intel Core i7 processor.

Thanks for your hard work on this viewer, and for taking the time to review these issues.

Hi. ... You shouldn't be experiencing any of the 3 problems with the viewer. Given that Firestorm works fine on your PC it sounds like possibly a bad install.

If you're not already running the latest alpha I recommend that you update to it, doing a clean install. If you're already running the latest alpha, I recommend doing a clean (re)install.

Note: The CtrlAltStudio Viewer shouldn't really be very different in performance from the corresponding Firestorm release, which in the case of the alpha is Firestorm 4.6.7. (I'm currently in the process of updating to the Firestorm 4.6.9 codebase.)

Thanks, David. I just tried upgrading to the new mega updated Firestorm (4.7) and it's having the same issues, so I guess it's on my end! I did a clean re-install, too. I'm at a loss but it's very frustrating. I wish I knew what to do, but at least now I know it's not a viewer issue. I really appreciate your quick and helpful response!
